new partnership with api - associazione pizzerie italiane
Founded in Rome in 1989, API‘s mission has always been to support and promote the professional activity of its members, representing them in their relations with bodies and institutions. Its commitment to organising major events has not only made the association grow but has also elevated and spread the art of Italian pizza around the world. Thanks to its commitment to providing professional courses for pizza makers, in line with the esteemed National School of Pizza guidelines, API has become a beacon of excellence in pizza training.

As President of UK Confederation, Stefano Potortì says: “I am extremely excited and honoured by this extraordinary alliance with API. This partnership represents an unparalleled opportunity to share knowledge, experience and best practice, promoting growth and deep mutual understanding. We share a common mission of teaming up and collaborating synergistically to promote the Made in Italy brand abroad while proudly advancing our values. We strongly believe in the excellence of Italian products and traditions, and together we will strive to consolidate this partnership, creating a solid and collaborative network that will enable us to face global challenges and promote Made in Italy as a symbol of quality and creativity worldwide”.

Angelo Iezzi, API President, said: ‘We are confident that we will achieve results in line with the expectations of this valuable collaboration by making available our in-depth knowledge of the whole white art and in particular of the ‘Pizza alla Romana’ brand. There will be a lot of work to be done, well aware that we have signed with UK Confederation a noble and valiant cooperation!”

Both associations would like to sincerely thank Federico Fiorentini, a valuable member and councillor, for his fundamental contribution to facilitating this agreement.

Il musical degli italiani a Londra

Il musical degli italiani a londra

It’s almost all set for Il Musical degli Italiani a Londra, an artistic and linguistic project that involves the creation and staging of a new musical created for, with and by the British-Italian community in London to explore themes of identity, multiculturalism and the very concept of community.

In May 2021, during over 20 workshops held at SIAL.school, the only Italian / English bilingual school in London, about 45 children and young people between 9 and 21 years of age contributed to the creation of ideas for writing the story and music of the Musical, through a variety of dramatic and musical activities. In November 2021 the cast was assembled and in January 2022 it started the rehearsal phase, which will lead to the performance on the 16th July 2022 at the Britten Theatre, within the Royal College of Music (South Kensington, London). It will be a bilingual musical: in English and Italian, aimed at a varied London audience, from children, young people, parents and grandparents.

“This project stems from the desire to give a voice and represent the community of Italians in London, with particular attention to bilingual families who see their children born and raised in the country they have chosen as their home. – explains Eleonora Giovannardi, one of the creators and Producers of the Musical – For this reason, to open the search for sponsors who want to support the launch of the Musical, we decided to turn to the Italian businesses that operate in London and that have one of their main target audiences in the Italian community. The idea is to offer visibility to all companies small and large, which despite Brexit and the pandemic, have continued to operate, bringing a little Italian spirit to this side of the pond. “

Companies wishing to support the project or learn more can find more information on the project website, on the dedicated page:
